Change is difficult and coming to the realization that things aren’t quite right in our life, or that of a loved one is sometimes hard to see. Take a look at the following questions with an open mind and honesty, it will help you assess if it’s time to consider an assisted living facility. It has been my experience that it is better to have the freedom to choose while you can, before an incident occurs that forces a decision upon you. If you answer yes to even some of these, it is worth taking a look at Saint Ann’s. Change in behavior. Has their personality changed from what you are use to? Are they finding themselves more angry or afraid? Trouble with showering or bathing? Is it taking a long time to get ready for the day? Forgetting to groom, or can’t groom like you use too? Difficulties with toileting. Are there stains on the bedding, chairs or clothes. Falling and trouble with mobility. Is the home cluttered and unsafe. Are there items in the way. Has there been injuries (big or small) from falling? Not eating well. Is there food in the house? Difficulty getting groceries? Managing medications. Getting medications. Not taking them at the right time? Has a chronic condition that will get worse over time? Lonely, and leaving the house less? Finances and bills aren’t being taken care of as they should?
