May Administrator’s Letter

Hello Everyone,

May looks like it will be a busy month. Hopefully the weather will be warmer, and we can get outdoors and enjoy the patio. Sharon has many nice activities planned like a Mother’s Day Tea and Spring Dance with the Windjammers.

We would like to thank everyone for your support with our Rummage and Bake Sale. We raised over $3,800 in the two days. Thank you to the dedicated staff and volunteers that made it possible.

Sincerely,

Scott and Jan

Administrator’s Letter April 2022

Hello Everyone,

April showers bring May flowers! Hopefully we will start to see signs of spring soon. Usually in Duluth we normally have several April Fool’s snow and bad weather days before we get in to our beautiful Duluth days.

We would like to thank everyone for all your patience, cooperation and support as we navigate through two years of the global COVID pandemic, required inspections and regulations along with the construction with the Essentia expansion. St. Ann’s will certainly be in the hub of the medical community which will be one of the largest and modern medical complexes.

We look forward to our upcoming building improvements and getting back to our fundraisers this spring.  One of them is our famous Rummage and Bake Sale which is scheduled for Friday, April 29th and Saturday April 30th.

Our latest improvement project is the purchasing of much needed new window coverings for the Social Hall huge windows. We have over half of the funds for this project raised by generous donors so the order of materials could be placed. If interested in helping please see Jan or Sharon.  We also want to thank all our very generous donors and volunteers that help provide and support our programs, activities, Little Shoppe, employee recognitions, building projects and the chapel every day. Thank you for keeping the spirit and mission alive as we forge ahead!

Wishing you a happy spring and a great Easter season!

Sincerely,

Scott and Jan

Administrator’s Letter March 2022

Hello Everyone,

Only in Duluth can there be a storm with 10 to 12 inches of snow, ice, and winds one day and the next week 35 degrees and melting. The first day of Spring is March 20th and daylight savings begins on March 13th with the promise of brighter and hopefully warmer days ahead!

We want to thank all the dedicated hardworking staff that make it through the bad weather to come serve you every day. There are many restaurants and business that have posted billboards that say, “The whole world is short staffed so please be kind to the employees that show up” We continue to work everyday to make sure we have correct staffing and some staff work extra shifts to make sure we do. Thank you!

We have received many calls and inquiries about our usual March Rummage Sale that we have every spring. With COVID numbers still in the Northland we are planning to do it in the end of April instead. This will hopefully give us a little more time to get the warm weather and time to get things organized after a long cold snowy winter.

As many of you are aware we are run by a nonprofit Board of Directors. We recently had two new members join our board. They are Dr. Dan Laughlin and Zachery Thayer. We hope that you will be able to meet them soon.

Sincerely,

Scott and Jan
