Activities Department

OurRPS-staff Resident Program Services department (RPS) works year round to develop and bring entertaining, informative, and socially enriching programming to our residents at St. Ann’s.  Every day, residents get to choose from a variety of cultural, educational, and social programs that challenge and enrich the mind, body, and soul.  We provide exercise classes, unique social opportunities such as engaging games and movies, arts and crafts, community shopping and restaurant outings as well as live entertainment.  Among our many opportunities, we’ve added social “happy hours” every other week as well as jewelry class as we explore additional programming options for every age group in the senior culture. Our goal is to keep people engaged and active with a diversity of program offerings.  We also have a computer center where residents may work with RPS staff to learn how to use the Internet and how to set up email, Facebook, or Skype accounts to keep themselves involved with friends and family.

Our RPS department encourages family interaction and volunteer support of all the activities we schedule on the calendar at St. Ann’s.  Structured programs help all residents maintain a high quality of life.  Our activities not only provide entertainment and engagement, but they are opportunities for residents to socalize with others in the building and to form friendships.

Our Resident Program Services department team also spends time meeting with residents one-to-one and the office is open for residents to stop by.

Jan Lappy is our Resident Program Services director.  She joined our staff in 1999.  Her responsibilities include all activity and volunteer programs.  Jan has over 25 years experience in activities and adult day programming. She is a certified activity director and ceramics teacher with a background in occupational therapy.  She has a gerontology certificate from the University of Wisconsin Superior and is a member of the Minnesota Statewide Activity Professionals.
